MInd-Set and State of
1. A
habitual or characteristic mental attitude that determines how you will
interpret and respond to situations.
1The helmet of salvation. A helmet protected the
soldier’s head and brain—the seat of
intellect. Our Christian hope is compared to a helmet
because it protects our mind. (1 Thessalonians 5:8) Although we have made our mind
over by means of accurate knowledge of God’s Word, we are still weak, imperfect
humans. Our mind can easily become corrupted. Goals of this system of things
can distract us or even replace our God-given hope. (Romans7:18; 12:2) The Devil tried in vain to
sidetrack Jesus by offering him “all the kingdoms of the world and their
glory.” (Matthew 4:8-4:9- 4:10
) But Jesus flatly rejected the offer, and Paul said of him: “For the
joy that was set before him [Jesus] endured a Crucifixion The

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of
wickedness in the heavenly places.

16 After being baptized, Jesus came up out of the water. Then {Look!} the heavens opened and he saw God’s Breath coming down on him like a dove. 17 And {Look!} there was a voice that came from the sky, which said, ‘This is my loved Son. I am very pleased with him.’
1 Afterward, [God’s] Breath led Jesus into the desert to be tempted by the Slanderer. 2 And after he fasted for forty days and nights, he was hungry.
3 Then the Tempter came to him and said, ‘If you’re a Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.’
4 And [Jesus] replied: ‘It is written, Man doesn’t just need bread to survive, [he also needs] everything that is said by the mouth of God.’
5 Then the Slanderer took him to the Holy City, put him on one of the Temple’s high battle towers, 6 and said: ‘If you’re a Son of God, jump down, because it’s written, He will assign [His] messengers around you, and they will lift you on their hands so you won’t hit your foot on a stone.’
7 But Jesus told him: ‘Again, it is written, You shouldn’t put Jehovah your God to the test.’
8 Once again, the Slanderer took him along to an unusually high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 Then he told him: ‘I will give all of these to you if you’ll just bow down and show me your respect.’
10 But Jesus said: ‘Go away Slanderer, because it’s written, It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and He’s the only one you must serve.’
