Luke4-1-10

Chapter 4-

1 Now, Jesus was filled with the Holy Breath of God, so he left the Jordan, and [God’s] Breath led him into the desert, 2 where he was tempted by the Slanderer for forty days. And he didn’t eat anything during that entire period, so by the end he was very hungry. 3 Then the Slanderer said to him, ‘If you’re a son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.’

4 But Jesus answered, ‘It’s written, Bread isn’t the only thing that a man needs to survive.’

5 So, [the Slanderer] took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the earth in an instant of time, 6 and he said, ‘I will give you power over all of these and the glory of them, because they’ve been given to me and I can give them to whomever I wish. 7 They will all be yours if you’ll just bow before me.’

8 But Jesus answered, ‘It’s written, You must worship [Jehovah] your God. He’s the ONLY One you should worship.’

9 Then [the Slanderer] took him into Jerusalem and put him on a high battle tower of the Temple, and said, ‘If you’re a son of God, jump down from here, 10 because it’s written, He will order His messengers to protect you, 11 and theyll lift you up on their hands, so you won’t bump your foot on a stone.

12 But Jesus replied, ‘It is said, You shouldn’t test [Jehovah] your God.’ 13 So, after the Slanderer finished his tempting, he went away until the designated time.

14 Then the Power of [God’s] Breath moved Jesus to return to Galilee, and his fame spread throughout all that area. 15 He also started to teach in the synagogues, where he was honored by everyone. 11 and theyll lift you up on their hands, so you won’t bump your foot on a stone.

12 But Jesus replied, ‘It is said, You shouldn’t test [Jehovah] your God.’ 13 So, after the Slanderer finished his tempting, he went away until the designated time. http://www.2001translation.com/LUKE.htm

Luke 4:1-13 - [Verse 1 in Original Greek]

1 Jesus, R163 full of the Holy Spirit, returned R164 from the Jordan and was led around by F87 the Spirit in the wilderness 2 for forty R165 days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry. 3 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread." 4 And Jesus answered him, "It R166 is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.' " 5 And R167 he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the F88 R168 world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its F89 glory; for R169 it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 "Therefore if You worship F90 before me, it shall all be Yours." 8 Jesus answered him, "It R170 is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ' ONLY.' " " 9 And R171 he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here; 10 for it is written, 'HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,' 11 and, 'ON {their} HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.' " 12 And Jesus answered and said to him, "It R172 is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.' " 13 When the devil had finished every temptation, he left Him until an opportune time.
